Penang Hill 02.04.2013
Suddenly got this idea of going all the way up to the Penang Hill at night. It seemed to be quite bizarre to go up there on a very normal day, alone, and ask yourself: What are you going to do?...For the sake of "Shiok Lor!"...
That was my first visit since they upgraded the train, and it was a fast train, just took a couple of minutes to arrive at the hill top. Well, there was not really much activity up there at night, I think there are the only two things operating, one is the ticketing booth, and the other is that restaurant called "Sky Terrace". A very quiet place for a tourism spot I should say, maybe it was not the festive seasons. There are still tourist up there, most of them was doing photography though.
Okay, why Penang Hill? Erm...I just wanted to get 'disconnected' for a little while, away from the city life, away from some thoughts that I'm still struggling with...I just needed some mental boost. Going up there alone at night is something spooky, it so quiet until you can listen to your own breathing. It was a very nice experience, to feel the cooling breeze, to witness sunset, to observe the city transform into night - the lights, the cars, the buildings, to try to catch some fireflies and to let them glide through your hands freely...
The night view was spectacular. As a Penangite, I never knew the night view of this city could be that breath-taking, until I witnessed it by myself. It's really beautiful.
I'll go up there again on my next work leave. This time around, to witness Penang changes from dusk to dawn! Haha, that would be too long from now.
So, lets give the photos do the talking.
